Thoughts on Hooky-Marionetta. Some spoilers!

I know it probaly won't happen, but I would love to see the characters from Hooky interact with the characters from Marionetta. There are so many possibilities, but the ones I'd enjoy the most are:

Since Dani and Nico are spreading the word and building new bridges between people and witches, I'd love to see them interact with the members of the circus during this time in the story, but I'd especially like to see them interact with Sahed, Rainah and Julia.

I'd also be curious to see Dorian and Sahed interact, since, if I can recall correctly, Dorian had a lot of inner conflict about how he felt about non-magic users, and he had a lot of trouble making friends outside the people from home, which reminds me a little of Sahed in this way. Things weren't so black and white in regards to racial relations in Hooky, both did terrible things and sought revenge against the other, perpetuating a loop of voilence. I t's been a while since I read the series, but I'm making my way back through. Anyway, this is just all to say I remember it being really hard on Dorian to realize that yes, there are terrible non-magic users, but there are also terrible witches, and you really have to judge each person individually and not hold them accountable for the sins of others. You catch more flies with honey than with vinagar, so to say. Maybe knowing Dorian was coming from a somewhat similar place would help Sahed learn how to convince the other circus members to see the plight of his people.

I would love for Julia to get to talk to Monica and Will. I think there's a lot they could share with her that would help. Monica had prejudice against the witches initially, and she overcame it, even becoming a witch herself. Will grew up with suffocating expectations and sense of duty, both to his father and kingdom. They both know what expecting an arranged marriage is like. They know what it's like to fall in love with someone who would be very difficult to be with due to the social tensions and wars being fought between their races.

On a lighter topic, I think Monica would totally get into the shipping! I remember her trying to be her friends wing-woman, and her advice always seemed to fall flat, if not cause disaster (the love potion, telling Nico to button his shirt). She would definitely get into all kinds of romantic high jinks. Her and William's marriage situation also might give Julia a heart attack.

I'll bet Kamille would love to go adventuring with Mark and Aisha.

These are just my personal thoughts and opinions. These are just a few that have crossed my mind. There would be lighter interactions too, I think, but these are the ones that my brain has been latching onto. I'd be interested in hearing anyone else's if they felt like sharing!

sorry for seeing this so late! here are a few hcs i have for them <3:

Dani & Nico:

***Dani is a pretty bad cook, sadly the kitchen is never left the same as when she entered it (not on purpose ofc) so Nico is normally the one who cooks. He ends up getting the hang of it pretty quickly and eventually starts to really enjoy making his own little dishes for the both of them. extra: Dani asks him to teach her how to cook a few basic foods, and although it doesnt taste the best, he always has a goofy smile lovingly plastered on his face eating the food she makes for him :))

***I never saw Dani and Nico as the type to raise a kid, but if they did, it'd probably be once they're a bit older (maybe 30s?) I'd like to believe they'd be pretty good parents even though they didnt have the best rolemodels themselves. Nico would for sure be insecure about being a parent for a while though, but he has dani to fall back on so they'll be alright <3

Monica & Dorian:

***Monica pops in Dorians classroom every so often to help with the kids, sometimes reading them her old fantasy books. They LOVE having storytime with her, and she eventually ends up bringing most of her library to read to the class after just a few months.

***The kids constantly tease "Professor Wytte" about his "crush on Ms.Monica", they never confirm or deny of course, which only leads further suspicion from the students lmao.

Damien & Will:

***The Wytte siblings make sure to visit their mom whenever they can, but Damien ends up spending the most time with her since he's closest. She always loves it when him and Will come to visit though, or rather, "Damien and her son-in-law"

I just finished Ep52 of Hooky (since I am STILL waiting for the physical version of the book from the library, I started reading it on Webtoon), and I am SCREAMING

DORIAN MY BABY <3333333333333333 BRO I LOVE HIM SO MUCH *SOBS* he's so cute and adorable GAH he's PERFECTTTT omg the way he's not used to compliments and the way he's always blushing and PROFESSOR WYTTE AHHHHH omg literally in 52 (or 51) Dorian's face literally turns red and he's like "THATS CHEATING" bro thats my favorite thing ever man ToT omg the way he's throwing himself out there anytime ANYONE says "hey wanna play/hang out with us?' and he's like "UHH YESSSS" because he's never had any friends to play with before and dude was so freaking excited when Nico's friends asked him if he (and Monica, but she said no) he's literally running out the door ToT

UGHH AND HIM AND MONICA>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> THEY HAVE NO REASON TO BE THIS CUTE ARGHHHHHH the way right after Dorian left to play with Nico's friends Nico is like "BROOO NO WAY MY FRIENDS ARE GONNA LIKE HIM??? HE'S SO WEIRD AND CRINGE AND WEIRDER" and then Nico says "Right Monica" and she goes into a panic for a second and then she pictures Dorian and she's like "I THINK HE'S CUTE?!??!?!?!" girl you've thought he was cute since the beginning (well in the middle)

I knew Dorian and Monica were going to be a thing (the friend who told be about hooky told me) and I wasn't so sure because Monica was a bit of a brat ToT but her development throughout the story is MWAH one of the best I've seen no doubt she goes from bratty princess to literally a beautiful person inside and out and i just i love her

and NICOOOO bro what about Nico ??? ToT Everyone is forgetting about him!! DANI PLEASE BRING HIM BACK TO FULL SIZE ToT speaking of Dani, Nico is DOWN BAD DUDES... I'm on his side I swear no matter how much I laugh at him being jealous of Mark and just spying on Dani and him lmaoo i love the jealousy trope>>

and DANI AHH MY SWEET CHILD oh WHY did you quit being a witch!!??! ToT Well I do know actually- She and Nico are so cute and hilarious omgg ToT Dani and Mark are an amazing duo tooo (tho I dont think it as romantic tbh more platonic) okay but Dani with short hair is so friggin cute>>> she looks like a 9 or 10 year old thought- But still adorableeeeeeeeee

Mark is amazing too btw. During the ep/chapter where they go to the beach, I saw so many comments saying "What about a shirtless Mark???" and I was laughing so hard lmaoo Mark is great

Also William and Damien>> Haven't seen much of them but they are in love. What I GASPED and went into shock for a full minute when Dorian and Dani said that Damien was their older brother?? Like WHAT???

Btw kinda hating on the parents. Like they do care for their children but like....

One question though; on the Webtoon version, when does the second book start? Because I have books 2 and 3 in physical form next to be, and I want to know when book 1 ends so I can start reading my copy of book 2. I also heard there were bonus??

Hooky Cinderella AU

Cinderella but instead of the evil step siblings keeping him from the ball it’s his parents and aunt who don’t agree with the king. Damien is the fairy godmother who helps Dani and Dorian get ready for the ball. He agrees to distract their parents until midnight so the twins need to be home before that.

Dani meets Nico and Mark and hangs out with them. Dorian dances with the princess, Monica. When it gets close to midnight he and Dani need for run off. Dorian drops his hat? A wand? (maybe in this universe witches are common place and not much worried about, and a wand only responds to its user. And as for the hat, he was also wearing a mask so maybe she figured she would recognize him better with it, idk?)

Monica wants to see Dorian again so she decides to travel all across the land until she can find him. (it is cannon that she is stubborn and has an almost unbreakable determination to find the people she likes) So she travels asking every black haired guy she finds to try on the hat or to try using the wand. (For the hat idea I figure that she knows that she can tell who he is just by looking and talking to him, but the hat makes it feel more romantic and mysterious. It simply has more drama) When she gets to the Wytte residence the parents try and forbid her from entering but Damien stops them. He leads Monica to Dorian. She obviously instantly knows it’s him. His certain brand of charming awkwardness is pretty hard to forget. For the drama of it she makes him try on the hat or try the wand. Of course it fits/works, and they live happily ever after with Monica carrying him off into the sunset.

Also side note, he brings Dani and Damien with him to the palace. Dani falls in love with Nico who works at the palace. Damien meets and becomes friends with Monica’s best friend Will who is the heir to the neighboring kingdom. Damien goes to live there and work as his advisor/protector. (I think you know where I’m going with this)
